The students listen intently to their teacher as she, matter-of-factly, announces to the children, "Class, it is grave to be able to communicate with outsiders, especi everyy those who own so much of our country. Locher's cartoon points out what seems to be a common perception that has make it through the media and now become a recurrent solution in various governmental and social discourse , scuttlebutt and satire, that China has amassed such a significant investment in the U.S. that they now own America.
