I think that if I was posed with the same type of situation, that I would possibly first ask how Darlene was feeling that day. Determining after so many years of dealing with the flock alter for Darlene to reserve to complain about the stale smell meant that something had to be wrong. I would have relief Darlene of duties for that day, after determining the outset cause of attitude towards the stale forage populate. Knowing that individual does not sincerely feel well is not a good reason to keep them at work evening though a deadline needs to meet. I would have demonstrate someone who was capable of perform Darlenes duties for that day. Having other deal in the company that can multitask helps relieve some of the mark of the employees. Another possible way to have handled the situation would be to allow Darlene, if she wanted to stay at work, to wear a sham. I would have asked Darlene if she was comfortable wearing a mask to fulfill her duties for that day. Helping Darlene to feel comfortable for the day would have been my goal.

I would not tell her about the laws, because I am not a lawyer. She is also entitled to her own opinion, and I would have voiced mines about it been hard to quit smoking. I would reminder that her employees are considerate enough not to smoke when she or other works are in the room. Also, that the employees that smoke take the time out to air the room out, so that they are somewhat comfortable when they have to work in there. I would have asked Darlene can she think other solutions to the problem, besides stating that she was not going to work in that room today.
