FRETILIN Fretilin, the resistance movement turned legitimate political company has a history of great depth. Also known as the revolutionary Front for an Indep rarityent eastbound Timor had great battles with Portugal and hence Indonesia for dominance over due east Timorese territory. Before Fretilin was in motion, the land of Timor was a Lusitanian colony that was at war with the surrounding Dutch colonies[1]. The contravene started at around 1702 and persisted for some 200 years. In the end the Dutch seized the west part of Timor while the Portuguese hold the east. Timor was a sought after part of the world for the lifelike resources such as sandalwood and coffee. During April 1974 the Portuguese Armed Forces causa overthrew the Caetano regime and began the decolonization process with its African and Asian colonies. Namely, East Timor was a more than likely candidate because of the Portuguese failed attempts to extend oil from the land. It was now that when East Timorese natives and long-time inhabitants had heard of rumours of independence talks after the 1972 oil fiasco two groups were made.
