Primary Document Analysis Document 2. Otto Strasser, The 14 Theses of the German Revolution, 1929. Otto Strasser was a German politician and left-wing element of the German Nazi Party up until 1930. Although a high ranking member of the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP), Strasser held some genuinely different views to Adolf Hitler on more key ideas such as the abolition of capitalism and a more egalitarian society. [1] The Fourteen Theses of the German Revolution was written post-World War One, in a time of decimation for Germany due to the harsh terms of the Treaty of Versailles. This caused Strasser and many other Germans to [deny] before God and the world and obligation toward the quiet treaties of Versailles and Saint-Germain, treaties based on the lie of Germanys guilt and instituted finished brute force.[2] Germany also had to deal with the effects of the Wall passage Crisis that caused the country to fall into depression as the rate of ostentation grew to astronomical levels.[3] Strasser espouses many ideas as to how Germany should be seen in the 20th century, regaining their status as one of the major players in international politics.

He writes of the need for Germany to retain their specifically German identity to fight with every means against racial degeneration or foreign influence in culture, and for folkish renewal and purity, for German culture.
